Wiesel’s powerful words and actions shook the world, leaving a lasting impact and legacy. Through Night, he broke the code of silence, opening the doors for survivors to share their stories. Wiesel became the leader and icon for Holocaust survivors through writing numerous books, standing up for rights of refugees, speaking against genocide, and helping oppressed communities around the world. Wiesel eventually established his own foundation ensuring that the new generations become torch bearers for the Holocaust and to ensure people everywhere“ …..never stay silent whenever and wherever there is human suffering.” Wiesel was a leader, human rights activist, and political activist for all generations.
